DIY Beeswax for Leather Cleaning Recipe

This simple recipe for beeswax leather cleaner can be stirred up in a jiffy. Softening and protecting many leather surfaces, it also adds shine.

  • Slowly melt shea butter and beeswax in a double boiler or similar container.
    Chunks of beeswax and shea butter melting in pot.
  • Add coconut oil (it may be a solid or liquid depending on the temperature)
    Adding coconut oil to melted wax for leather polish.
  • Add sweet almond oil and stir ingredients together.
    Adding almond oil to hot wax for polish.
  • Pour into a wide mouth container and allow to cool. I had more than enough for one tin - so I put the rest in a wide mouth jar for my Mom.
    Two container of wax polish left to cool.

Notes

*Beeswax and shea butter are best melted slowly in a double boiler set up.  If you use any other method, proceed slowly and keep a close eye on your ingredients.
*This simple recipe for beeswax leather conditioner is great for many types of leather items but I would not use on it leather furniture.
