Black Walnut Salve Recipe

This simple black walnut salve is made with infused oil,beeswax, and optional essential oils, creating an old-fashioned herbal remedyusing the rich green hulls of foraged walnuts.

Supplies
 

  • 3.5 oz black walnut infused oil (100g)
  • .5 oz beeswax (14g)
  • 21 drops essential oils (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Add beeswax to a double boiler and heat on low until fully melted.
    Melting beeswax in a small pot.
  • Pour in the black walnut infused oil and stir gently until completely combined.
    Step by step instructions for making walnut salve.
  • Remove from heat and add essential oils, if using. Stir again.
    Essential oils ready to add to melted walnut salve.
  • Pour the warm salve mixture into tins or small jars.
    Black walnut and beeswax salve cooling in tins.
  • Let cool and solidify before adding lids and labels to tins.
    Finished tin of salve made with black walnuts.

Notes

Store in a cool, dark place. Shelf life is up to 1 year, or until the oil begins to smell rancid.
