Sweet honey and tangy lime and spicy garlic combine to create a sticky sweet shrimp experience fresh from the skillet. This simple recipe is easy to make and you can add many variations for different flavors.
1pounddeveined and shelled shrimpfresh or frozen-thawed
1tablespoonbutter
1tablespoonolive oil
2clovesminced garlic
4tablespoonshoney
1 1/2tablespoonslime juice
dash of salt
dash of red pepper flakes
chopped parsley - if desired

Instructions
Remove shrimp from packaging and rinse well under cold water. Set aside and let them drain in a colander.
Preheat a large skillet to medium high heat. Add the olive oil, butter and minced cloves of garlic. Saute until the garlic is slightly brown.
Stir in the drained shrimp - mix well with melted ingredients. Cook for 3-4 minutes stirring a few times.
Combine the honey, lime juice and red pepper flakes and pour into the shrimp mixture. Cook until the sauce begins to thicken and the shrimp are tender.
Remove from heat - add slices of lime and stir. Add a chopped parsley garnish and serve immediately.

Notes:If using frozen shrimp, let them thaw before cooking.Any variety of honey works well in this shrimp stir fry.If the sauce is too slow to thicken, and you are in a hurry - add a pinch of corn starch.If you want to add more savory flavor, a tablespoon of soy sauce (or low-sodium soy sauce) is a nice addition.
